cer Financial is partnering with an international bank based in the West End to recruit an experienced Operations Manager on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing banking operations, driving process improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a high-performing operations team.
The responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include:
- Oversee domestic and international payment processing
- Ensure payments are authorised and released in line with policies and controls
- Improve operational processes, controls, and efficiency
- Maintain compliance with AML/KYC, regulatory requirements, and operational standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team
- Support audits, business continuity, and operational resilience initiatives
- Manage operational risk, reporting, and supplier relationships
- Support system upgrades, automation projects, and process enhancements
- Work closely with department heads and support the COO with operational planning
The candidate will have:
- Degree educated or equivalent banking/financial services experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within banking operations
- Strong knowledge of payments processing, including SWIFT, BACS, and Direct Debits
- Experience working within regulated banking environments
- Understanding of AML, sanctions, PSRs, and financial crime controls
- Proven team management experience within a fast-paced operational setting
- Familiarity with the Equation Banking System is advantageous
- Knowledge of private banking, treasury, risk, compliance, and vendor management preferred
