cer Financial are working alongside a small international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Settlements Officer to work with them on a permanent basis.

In this role you will assist the Operations Manager overseeing the smooth functioning of Settlement and Customer Services to maintain sufficient check and balance in connection with the Treasury’s day-to-day positions, provide quality services to customers and to implement secure working practices relating to funds transfers.

The responsibilities of a Settlements Officer will include:

  • Check and co-authorise credit items and timely payments within the limit and delegated signing authority.
  • Counter check positions with the dealers during the day and before the end of each day.
  • Match confirmations to ensure the correctness.
  • Handle queries/investigations in connection with Bank-to Bank payments.
  • Cover for the Administrative Officer in charge of Customer Services.
  • Develop and implement strategies relating to customer’ deposits, remittances, and settlements to ensure the competitiveness of the Customer Services tariffs.
  • Establish & monitor compliance with the approved policies, workflow procedures & guidelines and relevant governing rules & regulations pertaining to all the activities within the Settlement and to update, on an ongoing basis, all the corresponding manuals and procedures. Review and implement changes in operations process workflows for continuous improvements in efficiency.
  • Assist Operations Manager carrying out Watch List/Fircosoft and Northland investigation as part of the Sanction List/ AML procedure.
  • Oversee, direct, supervise, appraise, motivate and train the staff to ensure the smooth functioning of its operations.
