CER are looking to add to our team of Special Needs Teachers to fulfil temporary positions within one of our partnership schools in Bedford. As a temporary Special Needs Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students across a wide range of special needs ranging from Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities to Moderate Learning Disabilities and Difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a wide variety of schools, gaining valuable experience or trying new settings to find your dream job. You will be contributing to our supportive and inclusive school community and making a positive impact on the lives of students. We are also keen to speak to ECTs (Early Career Teachers) who are looking to kick start their careers. We have a number of exciting opportunities available, with full support to help you transition into the classroom for 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum while differentiating and adapting where appropriate given students' EHCPs
- Adapt to different school environments showing flexibility and resilience
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to facilitate active learning and promote student engagement
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support their academic development
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the English curriculum
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Further Education qualification (QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching in a UK based school is essential for this role and references will need to be submitted
- Experience teaching and supporting special needs learners
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential
