Role Overview

CER is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in schools in the Doncaster area. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful applicant will be comfortable managing challenging behaviours and will be working with children with a variety of additional needs.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, including those with EHCPs and additional learning needs.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Promote independence and confidence in learners while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to commute reliably to the Doncaster area.
