CER Education is looking to recruit a school caretaker, preferably with school-based experience, for a secondary school in St. Helens.
The ideal candidate will have recent experience in this role and be able to undertake repair, maintenance, and caretaking activities of the school site to ensure the smooth running of the school and the safety, security and sound condition of buildings, facilities and grounds.
The hours of work will be a split shift of 6:00 am β 10:15 am and 2:45 pm β 6:00 pm daily. The role will start in September, be temporary with a view to permanent placement.
Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance of property and grounds, including liaising with contractors.
- Monitor site stock, order supplies and undertake porterage.
- Lock and unlock the school and carry out security checks on the building.
- Carry out and record basic checks and help maintain Health and Safety records.
- Demonstrate Health and Safety awareness and show willingness to attend training courses, including Health and Safety.
- Use DIY skills to carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating, following a planned maintenance programme.
- Undertake cleaning duties.
- Act as a key holder.
