About the Role
We are seeking a â
Director of Product Managementâ to own and drive the Portfolio Monitoring product area.
This is a customer-facing leadership role: you will work directly with large, sophisticated institutional clients who have complex customization, configuration, and integration requirements.
You will define the product vision and roadmap for portfolio monitoring, translate client needs into scalable product capabilities, and collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver solutions that win and retain enterprise accounts.
The ideal candidate comes from a B2B enterprise software background in the private markets, alternative investments, or financial data space, and has direct experience managing products where client-specific configuration and white-glove engagement are central to the value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and 12-month roadmap for the Portfolio Monitoring product area, aligning with CEPRESâ overall business objectives and market opportunities.
- Participate in the annual strategic planning process alongside business unit leadership, bringing market intelligence, competitive analysis, and technology feasibility input so that commercial priorities are defined with full product and market context.
- Own systematic market and competitive intelligence as an ongoing function: maintain a structured view of competitor capabilities, market trends, and client needs rather than relying on anecdotal feedback from individual sales conversations, and use this to inform roadmap prioritization and product strategy.
- Serve as the primary product voice in client-facing engagements: participate in sales cycles, lead product demonstrations, run discovery workshops, and manage solution scoping for enterprise prospects and existing accounts.
- Translate large-scale customization and configuration requests from institutional clients into scalable, repeatable product capabilities that serve the broader market.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to develop account-specific solution strategies, ensuring product capabilities align with client requirements and contractual commitments.
- Oversee multiple agile squads delivering portfolio monitoring features, ensuring coordinated execution, effective cross-team collaboration, and continuous improvement in product delivery.
- Champion product positioning and go-to-market strategy by collaborating with Marketing to develop pricing, positioning, and messaging that differentiates CEPRES in the private marketâ s software space.
- Build and manage relationships with strategic partners, data providers, and technology vendors to enhance the product ecosystem.
- Mentor and develop the product management team, fostering a culture of client empathy, analytical rigor, and continuous learning.
- Monitor product performance, adoption metrics, and client satisfaction to inform strategic decision-making and prioritization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in product management within B2B enterprise software, with at least 5 years in a customer-facing product role serving large, sophisticated clients.
- Direct experience in the private markets, alternative investments, asset management, or financial data/technology sector.
- Proven track record of managing products that require significant client-specific customization, configuration, or implementation, while maintaining a scalable product architecture.
- Strong B2B sales environment experience: comfortable participating in RFPs, prospect demos, solution scoping, and commercial negotiations alongside Sales teams.
- Deep expertise in agile methodologies, strategic roadmap development, and cross-functional team leadership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with C-level executives, portfolio managers, and operations teams at institutional investors.
- Experience with product positioning, GTM strategy development, and driving successful market launches in enterprise software.
- In-depth knowledge of portfolio monitoring workflows, including fund accounting, performance measurement (IRR, TVPI, DPI), cash flow management, and investor reporting.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring product teams and driving organizational growth.
- Ability to document and articulate complex product requirements, user stories, and process improvements clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a private market software vendor.
- Exposure to advanced analytics, AI/machine learning technologies, and quantitative modeling techniques as applied to private market portfolio data.
- MBA or advanced degree in finance, economics, or related quantitative discipline.
- Familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Product board, or similar platforms.
- Fluency in English required; German or additional European languages a strong plus.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to innovate in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
Join CEPRES to lead our Portfolio Monitoring product area, work directly with the worldâ s most sophisticated private market investors, and build the software platform that powers their investment decisions.
