Key purpose of this role is to diagnose complex, cross cutting challenges impacting the R&D division’s ability to operate at its best, develop practical solutions which drive meaningful improvements, and work with teams across CEPI to implement and embed those solutions in practice. This role supports execution and delivery of divisional objectives and provides support to R&D leadership team on key change and improvement initiatives. The role holder will be expected to lead discussions with R&D Leadership to achieve a cohesive plan that supports effective delivery of CEPI 2.0 objectives while preparing to develop technical components of our implementation plan for the next strategic cycle. This is a fixed-term position for one year. The selected applicant would need to be available to start immediately or on a very short notice.
Responsibilities
- Drive problem solving and develop solutions which support operational effectiveness and excellence across the R&D division.
- Support the R&D ED and leadership team on key change and improvement initiatives across the division, with a focus on supporting the R&D division as the organisation transitions to the CEPI 3.0 strategy.
- Proactively work with the R&D division to identify areas of opportunity to design improvements and work collaboratively across the division to co-create and implement those improvements to business processes and operations.
- Develop and oversee R&D’s approach to analytics to support monitoring strategic performance and to provide R&D insights.
- Oversee R&D’s inputs (analytics and systems) that support CEPI monitoring and evaluation, ensuring best practices and delivering value to the organisation.
- Lead design of tools and analytics, in collaboration with other CEPI analysts, to deliver insights for monitoring progress and execution, decision-making and to inform opportunities assessments.
- Lead the R&D Analytics and Planning team of the Executive Director’s Office and the development of the team members, including deploying resources across R&D to support business needs.
- Serve as a member of the EDO leadership team, deputising for the Director of R&D EDO as needed.
Education, Experience and Competence
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related discipline or relevant background.
- Experience working in strategy or strategic consulting.
- Proven track record as a thought-partner to senior stakeholders and a trusted advisor to leaders.
- Ability to provide clear, effective and efficient pathways to resolving ambiguous questions.
- Strong matrix leadership skills, able to lead with diplomacy, and bring people along with you.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership/management experience is a must.
Travel and Location Requirements
This role is based in Oslo (Norway), London (UK) or East Coast (US).
