Who We’re Looking For

A hands‑on, delivery-focused Release Manager with experience managing complex, multi‑system releases in regulated environments. You will work closely with developers, QA, product, security, and operations teams to ensure release quality, minimise risk, and support business‑critical delivery milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the release calendar across all environments.
  • Lead release readiness reviews, Go/No-Go decisions, and deployment approvals.
  • Coordinate multi‑team, multi‑system releases including applications, APIs, databases, and Power Platform solutions.
  • Oversee packaging and deployment of:
  • .NET applications and services
  • Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Manage CAB inputs, change records, approvals, and audit evidence.
  • Ensure clear rollback and backout strategies are in place.
  • Work with engineering teams to maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub).
  • Collaborate with QA on test planning, UAT scheduling, and phased deployments.
  • Monitor post‑release health and coordinate hypercare and incident response.
  • Maintain release documentation including runbooks, checklists, and environment maps.
  • Mandatory Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Release Manager delivering releases across multiple systems.
    • Strong experience releasing .NET applications and Azure‑hosted services.
    • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform releases.
    • Experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub for CI/CD.
    • Solid understanding of change management, CAB processes, and release governance.
    • Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills.

    Desirable

    • Experience working within UK Public Sector or Government programmes.
    • Familiarity with phased rollouts and regulated delivery environments.
    • Knowledge of ITIL‑aligned change and release management practices.

    Soft Skills

    • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
    • Calm under pressure with strong risk awareness.
    • Confident communicator with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
    • Proactive, delivery‑driven, and able to take ownership.
    • Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

    Contract Details

    • Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
    • Location: Remote (UK‑based candidates preferred)
