We are seeking a Data Architect to work within a multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver a new data service within a large-scale organisational environment. This role involves shaping data architecture, supporting data engineering activities, and ensuring data models and documentation meet organisational standards and requirements. The Data Architect will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish robust data structures, governance practices, and scalable solutions across the data platform.
Who We’re Looking For
An experienced Data Architect who can confidently lead client engagements, design scalable data platforms, and align technical solutions with business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing system design and data architecture; update documentation, data dictionaries, and data models as needed.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Support data engineers on ingestion tasks.
- Build data models aligned with the organisation's requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is reviewed and approved by the central data architecture team.
- Develop Data Architecture and Governance Plans.
Mandatory Requirements
- Design a suitable Data Architecture for the new service in keeping with the existing organisation’s data platform, established patterns and processes.
- Support Data Engineers and Data Analysts.
- Support design, development, and deployment of platform infrastructure and Azure services and Databricks services as needed for dataflows and integrations.
- Verify data models meet functional and nonfunctional requirements.
- Improve engineering processes.
- Establish service measures and provide support for data pipeline and processes.
- Ensure documentation is reviewed and approved by central data platform team per acceptance criteria.
- Participate in communities of practice, ceremonies, and approval forums as required.

- Prior experience working within UK Public Sector environments or with Government Digital Standards.
