We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Domestic Assistant to join our team at Lytham Court Nursing Home. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing high-quality cleaning.
Duties
- To ensure that all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents’ and homes needs.
- To be aware of your responsibility for ensuring the people you are looking after are safeguarded from abuse.
- To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
- To understand and comply with the statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety and all aspects of the Care Standards Act, to maintain safety throughout the home.
- Ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order and immediately report any faults by completing the maintenance sheet.
- Check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform your Line Manager of any shortages.
- Always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.
- Be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meetings, attend training sessions and ensure that the home is a friendly and supportive working environment.
- Ensure that their mandatory training is maintained.
- Participate in individual supervision, training and appraisal, as agreed with your line manager.
- Safeguard at all times the confidentiality of information relating to staff and residents.
- Undertake any other operational duties identified by your line manager.
Requirements
- Basic numeric and literacy skills.
- Friendly, helpful and courteous.
- COSHH training.
- Ability to use and maintain essential cleaning equipment.
- Able to organise and complete routine tasks to set standards.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or within a care/hospital environment is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly.
