Role Overview
This position requires a confident architectural professional capable of delivering precise technical work, managing regulatory processes, and guiding clients through development opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in shaping property potential, ensuring compliance, and supporting our agents and clients with authoritative architectural insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Feasibility — Produce concept layouts, measured surveys, and feasibility assessments for a wide range of property types.
- Planning Applications — Prepare and submit Change of Use, Householder, and Full Planning applications with accuracy and strategic awareness.
- Building Standards Compliance — Ensure all proposals meet Scottish Building Standards and manage Building Warrant documentation.
- Project Management — Oversee timelines, coordinate consultants and contractors, and manage deliverables across multiple projects.
- Regulatory Advisory — Provide clear guidance on planning constraints, conservation requirements, HMO considerations, and development viability.
- Technical Documentation — Produce precise CAD drawings, specifications, and supporting technical material.
- Brokerage Support — Assist agents with property assessments, refurbishment strategies, and marketing‑ready plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (ARB/RIBA‑recognised).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in architectural practice.
- Strong understanding of Scottish planning law, Building Standards, and local authority processes.
- Demonstrated experience with Change of Use, planning submissions, and building warrants.
- Proven project management capability with the ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design software.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
