Centurum is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) Specialist to support critical U.S. Navy shipboard communication systems. This role is essential to ensuring the readiness, reliability, and modernization of CBSP systems across the fleet. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise, strong troubleshooting ability, and experience supporting shipboard RF communication systems. An active Secret clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of the work and direct support to Navy operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide full lifecycle CBSP Program of Record sustainment, modernization, and engineering support, including Modernization efforts, Software Loading, System Operation Verification Testing (SOVT), Pre-Installation Testing Check-Out (PITCO), Pre-Installation and Checkout (PICO), and support for Trouble Tickets and CASREPs.
- Support Combat Systems, Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Readiness Assessment (C5RA), INSURV, System Grooms/Repairs, Total Ship’s Readiness Assessment (TSRA), DGSIT, System Operational Testing (SOT), On-Board Technical Assist (OBTA), Distant Support, Technical Assist Visit Report (TAVR) preparation, and above-deck equipment refurbishment.
- Conduct CONUS/OCONUS on-site technical assist visits to troubleshoot system issues, test and verify system performance, identify failed components, and support existing lab assets.
- Provide on-site support for software installation and system turnover, including system production and assembly, testing, staging, shipping, installation, SOVT, training, and operational cutover.
- Deliver clear task status updates and oral briefings to senior Navy personnel, and develop technical instructions, procedures, schematics, and system documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education: Technical training in a relevant technical or engineering field, or formal electronics training from a Technical School or Class A/B Military Electronics or Communications School.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on Radio Frequency Communication Systems experience. Demonstrated in-service sustainment engineering experience including design, development, testing, evaluation, and maintenance supporting Navy CBSP or comparable shipboard communication systems.
- Additional Requirements: Active Secret Clearance. Ability to distinguish colours, perform fine motor tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to engage professionally and effectively with technical and management personnel.
