We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead our children’s residential home, providing high-quality, child-centred care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the home, ensuring it operates in full compliance with Ofsted and all relevant legislation, while creating a safe, nurturing and stable environment where children can thrive.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the residential home in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and outcomes for children and young people.
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and implemented in practice.
  • Manage, supervise and support staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and rota planning.
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, external agencies, families and professionals to promote positive outcomes for each child.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing in a children’s residential home.
  • Experience working with children and young people with EBD and LD.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance within children’s residential services.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Full clean UK driving licence (desirable).

Desirable criteria

  • Existing Ofsted URN registration as a Registered Manager.
  • Additional qualifications in social care, health, or related fields.
