We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead our children’s residential home, providing high-quality, child-centred care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring it operates in full compliance with Ofsted and all relevant legislation, while creating a safe, nurturing and stable environment where children can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the residential home in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies.
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and outcomes for children and young people.
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and implemented in practice.
- Manage, supervise and support staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and rota planning.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Work in partnership with local authorities, external agencies, families and professionals to promote positive outcomes for each child.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing in a children’s residential home.
- Experience working with children and young people with EBD and LD.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance within children’s residential services.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Full clean UK driving licence (desirable).
- Existing Ofsted URN registration as a Registered Manager.
- Additional qualifications in social care, health, or related fields.
Who should apply?
