Subsea Project Engineer
Role Purpose
To provide day to day project and administrative support to the business acting as a link
between the workshop, operations, engineering and the clients. The postholder will work closely
with all departments to ensure that projects are prepared, delivered and invoiced on time, every
time.
Key Accountabilities & Tasks
Operations
- Attend weekly operations / project meetings to provide updates on upcoming and on going projects.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitoring of assigned projects.
- Ensure project information is relevant and live.
- Perform engineering tasks according to the engineering procedures to better assist with the project proposals / operations, this can include but is not limited to deck plans, graphical images to better explain certain operations and bespoke items required for the project.
- Manage and participate in the delivery of commercially and technically optimised solutions that are aligned with the client and company expectations and are fit forpurpose.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to a wide range of stakeholders
- Ensure proposals are detailed, precise and accurate, obtaining technical review from Project / Engineering supervisor and / or General Manager before submission to the client.
Project Support
- Communicate & organise client trials and factory acceptance tests (FAT’s.)
- Assist with contract & tender review to ensure the correct products are offered and its clear on their operation.
- Update InspHire with changes to scheduled project dates.
- Assist in resolving invoice queries through to conclusion and accelerate client payment.
- Discuss and review complex projects with Operations/Line Manager before
- submission.
- Take ownership of planning and execution of project specific operations.
- Organise the offshore team to accomplish the mobilisation and plan effective offshore operations to meet client needs.
- Responsible for clients receiving sufficient documentation and updates on progress, within the agreed deadlines.
- Seek to continuously improve procedures and project documentation.
- Liaise with QHSE to ensure all project/tender specific QHSE requirements are met and all necessary documentation is completed.
- Provide line manager with regular updates regarding project movement and
- delivery.
- Identify potential challenges with the project and, discuss with
- Operations/Engineering to develop and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
- The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive QHSE culture by taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others at all times. Be prepared to challenge unsafe acts and behaviour and report these using the correct reporting procedures.
- Be disciplined in completing mandatory training assigned relevant to the role designed to help protect the safety and security of the organisation and its employees.
Desired Profile
- HND or higher qualification in Engineering / Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Subject matter expert with demonstrable strong technical product knowledge
- Good knowledge of all standard software packages, for example, financial tools, CRM, Microsoft office suite, Insphire and Microsoft Project.
- Key knowledge in subsea operations, ROV tooling and decommissioning packages.
- Considerable experience in the application of subsea services.
