MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Managing the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials to support the Company operational needs. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, negotiating, and maintaining supplier relationships.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide General Administration Support.
Obtaining quotes for tender and purchasing purposes.
- Issue new suppliers with Vendor Questionnaire forms following relevant company procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify cost saving opportunities.
- Assist with maintaining Vendor Certification.
- Obtain and negotiate product/material costs with suppliers ensuring best price and quality.
- Prepare and process purchase orders on InspHire System
- Expedite delivery of goods
- Process goods received in line with company processes.
- Arrange 3rd party contractors/services when required.
- Process proforma payment requests via Flowforma/Sharepoint
- Investigate Invoice queries to resolve
- Assist in company auditing by maintaining purchasing records.
- Assist SCM at group level with various requests.
- Work in conjunction with Workshop/Engineering on purchasing requirements.
- Work in Conjunction with Stores on any Goods In/Returns Purchasing related queries
- Process POs via workshop job/Sales and Hire Jobs and Requisitions via InspHire.
- Adhere to all Company policies and processes.
- Comply with Health and Safety policies and processes.
- The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and certification:
- Qualifications at SCQF Level 8-9 (e.g. HND, Technical Apprenticeship, SVQ, Bachelor/Ordinary degree, Graduate Diploma) or equivalent in supply chain management or a business-related discipline.
- Proven relevant work experience at a comparable level may be accepted in the absence of formal qualifications at this level.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, workshop and project demands for fast paced environment.
- Would be advantageous to have had experience with reading drawings to identify parts required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Effective communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong task management skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Competency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and Teams.
- Negotiation skills.
- Have self-discipline, motivation, the ability to organise your workload and overcome problems as they arise.
Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment is preferred.
- Experience in purchasing and vendor management is preferred.
Personal qualities:
- Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team, and under own initiative.
