Centurian Media is seeking an ambitious and commercially aware Editor to take a leading role across one of our specialist B2B industry publications operating within the global security, fire & safety and enterprise technology sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced editor or senior editorial professional looking to take ownership of a respected industry title with strong international reach across print, digital and live events.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the editorial direction of the brand, driving audience engagement, strengthening industry relationships and helping support the continued commercial growth of the publication. The role sits at the centre of the business and works closely with senior management, sales and marketing teams to ensure the publication continues to deliver high-quality editorial content whilst maintaining its position as a trusted industry platform.
Success in the role will be measured through editorial quality, audience growth, digital engagement, industry visibility, successful management of print and digital schedules and the ability to build strong relationships across the sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial direction and day-to-day management of the publication across print, digital and event activity
- Plan and manage editorial calendars, features, interviews and industry content schedules
- Write, edit and proofread high-quality news, features, thought leadership articles and commercial content
- Conduct interviews with senior industry executives and key stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry contacts, PR agencies, manufacturers and event partners
- Attend and represent the brand at major industry exhibitions, conferences and networking events in the UK and internationally
- Manage print production schedules and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved
- Work closely with the commercial team to support feature-led opportunities and integrated marketing campaigns whilst maintaining editorial standards
- Help drive digital audience growth across website, newsletter, podcast, webinar and social media channels
- Identify emerging industry trends, technologies and market developments to ensure the brand remains commercially and editorially relevant
- Support wider content initiatives including podcasts, webinars, video interviews and special reports
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a B2B publishing, journalism or editorial environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how editorial supports wider business growth
- Experience interviewing senior executives and industry leaders
- Strong proofreading and copy-editing ability with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Experience working across both print and digital media platforms
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively within a wider team environment
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, newsletters and digital publishing tools is advantageous
- Willingness to travel occasionally for industry events and exhibitions
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience within the security, fire & safety, technology or related B2B sectors
- Experience hosting webinars, podcasts or video interviews
- Degree in Journalism, English, Media or a related discipline
