Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator
Location: Company Headquarters, Toomebridge, Northern Ireland
Reporting to: HSE Director
Salary: £30,000 (pro rata), depending on experience

The Role
The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for managing the company's training compliance across multiple projects and locations, ensuring that all employees and site-based personnel maintain the certifications and competencies required to work safely. Working closely with the HSE Director, operational managers and external training providers, you will coordinate mandatory training, maintain accurate records and support the wider Health & Safety function at our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously update the company Training Matrix, ensuring all records remain accurate and current.
- Monitor mandatory training requirements across all company projects and locations.
- Identify upcoming training expiries and proactively coordinate renewals before certification lapses.
- Arrange and book mandatory training, including:
- Manual Handling
- Working at Height
- IPAF / MEWP
- Safe Pass and country-specific safety passport training
- Site-specific inductions and compliance training
- Liaise with approved training providers regarding availability, course content, costs and attendee requirements.
- Issue joining instructions and training confirmations to employees and managers.
- Monitor completion of online learning modules prior to practical training.
- Obtain and file training certificates upon successful completion.
- Update all internal compliance systems, trackers and training records.
- Communicate planned training absences with site management to minimise operational disruption.
Health & Safety Support
In addition to training compliance, the successful candidate will support the HSE department with a variety of day-to-day operational duties, including:
- Assisting with workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Supporting fire safety compliance and Fire Warden arrangements.
- Coordinating First Aid provision across company locations.
- Conducting Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments.
- Assisting with general HSE administration and documentation.
- Supporting ongoing compliance with company policies and statutory legislation.
Essential Experience & Skills
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within a Health & Safety, Training, Compliance, Construction, Engineering or Site Coordination role.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, training matrices and digital record management systems.
- The ability to coordinate multiple training requirements, suppliers and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge non-compliance where necessary.
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
- First Aid at Work
- Fire Warden / Fire Marshal
- DSE Assessor
