A growing organisation within the construction sector is recruiting a Head of Compliance. this is a role perfectly suited to ex-Military personnel with strong experience in standards, policy, governance, risk management, or leadership.

If you’ve worked in environments where procedures matter, safety is critical, and people rely on you to keep operations running correctly and legally, this role plays directly to that skill set.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage compliance across safety, quality, environmental and operational standards.

Ensure the organisation remains legally compliant and aligned with internal policies.

Maintain and improve compliance frameworks linked to ISO 9001, ISO 17025, COSHH, and relevant construction legislation.

Stay up to date with regulatory changes and convert them into clear, practical processes.

Lead internal audits and support external audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Support managers and site teams in embedding compliance requirements into daily operations.

Maintain accurate risk assessments, procedures, and compliance documentation.

Provide regular updates to senior leadership on compliance performance and areas of risk.

Promote a strong, positive compliance culture. Keeping people safe and the business protected.

Organised and detail-focused, able to handle multiple priorities.

Full UK driving licence and comfortable with travel.

Desirable (Not Essential)

Experience in construction, engineering, testing, scientific, or other regulated environments.

Exposure to audits, standards, or compliance frameworks.

Understanding of environmental or quality-management systems.
