Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our incredible team at Beacon House. If you are someone who is passionate about maintaining safe and comfortable environments and enjoys hands-on work, we would love to hear from you!

Location: Dartmouth TQ6
Hours: Monday to Friday | 5 hours per day (25 hours per week)

Beacon House is a 29 bedroom care home, boasting views of the river Dart.

We are renowned for our commitment to excellence, creating a positive culture based on family values, investment in technology and continuous improvement through dedicated staff training and development.

As we expand, we're looking for a Maintenance Technician who can ensure that our care home is kept in excellent condition, providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key part in the upkeep of Beacon House. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance on internal and external areas of our buildings.

  • Responding promptly to repair requests, addressing issues such as leaks, faulty appliances, and fixtures.

  • Conducting inspections to identify potential safety hazards and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Maintaining outdoor areas including paving, walkways and waste storage areas.

  • Conducting regular equipment checks and logging maintenance activities.

  • Testing fire safety systems and water temperatures in line with health and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Experience in general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • A commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

  • Vocational training in maintenance or related fields is preferred but not essential.
