We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director to join the board of our FCA-regulated EMI and provide independent challenge, strategic guidance, and oversight in a dynamic fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in quarterly Board meetings and strategy off-sites, offering constructive challenge to executive decisions.
- Scrutinise risk appetite, AML/CTF, safeguarding, operational resilience, and conduct risk frameworks to ensure ongoing FCA compliance.
- Chair or sit on the Risk & Compliance Committee (depending on expertise).
- Advise on product scaling, partnerships, capital strategy, and potential EMI-to-bank transition pathways.
- Support relationships with the FCA, auditors, and investors through governance best practice.
Who We’re Looking For
- Deep knowledge of FCA rules (EMR 2011, PSR 2017, MLR 2017) and prior NED experience at an FCA-regulated firm (EMI, PI, or bank).
- 10+ years in payments, banking, or fintech, with a proven track record of Board-level contributions.
- Track record in risk management, audit, or compliance committees; familiarity with SM&CR accountability regimes.
- No conflicts of interest; meets FCA 'fit and proper' standards.
Desirable
- Experience scaling a regulated fintech.
- Expertise in safeguarding, operational resilience, or open banking/PSDs.
