  • Job Summary

We are searching for a WIC Customer Service Representative (CSR) who will be the primary contact for patients at Centro Med WIC.

The CSR will welcome patients, process registrations, coordinate encounter data entry, and ensure compliance with program and agency deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, members, and visitors.
  • Answer telephones in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Respond promptly to client needs.
  • Establish and update accounts in the computer system.
  • Determine program eligibility by assessing household income or obtaining proof of Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF.
  • Explain my WIC to participants.
  • Schedule participant appointments according to established protocols.
  • Send text reminders for upcoming appointments.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the WIC program and certification periods (pregnancy, breastfeeding, postpartum, infants, and children).
  • Issue benefits onto the EBT card.
  • Maintain knowledge of the TXIN system.
  • Follow up on missed appointments as assigned by Director or Supervisor.
  • Maintain proper personal attire, uniform, nametag, and compliance with Centro Med appearance guidelines.
  • Provide participants with required written materials, such as Rights and Responsibilities and Healthy Texas Women’s Program.
  • Assist with outreach activities.
  • Maintain a breastfeeding‑friendly attitude.
  • Travel to other sites as needed.
  • Uphold Centro Med mission and values regarding ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility, and objectives.
  • Participate in maintaining high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures set forth by Centro Med.
  • Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program (if applicable).
  • Protect and secure all personal, confidential, and identifiable information in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Assist in training new employees on job duties.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to safety and security standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work on‑site at the designated location.

Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

General health‑care setting experience and medical data entry preferred.

Skills

Strong clerical skills, keyboarding, basic math, computer knowledge, calculator use, attention to detail.

Bilingual/Bicultural

Preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform essential functions of the position and provide excellent customer service.
  • Meet attendance requirements and work at designated on‑site location(s).
  • Do not pose a threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
