Purpose of the Role: To play a key role in developing and delivering Families United Networks fundraising activities, securing income to support programme delivery and the organisation’s core costs. This role will drive both community and corporate fundraising, build relationships, and enhance the charity’s profile within the local area.
Salary: £23,400 pa (FTE £29,250)
Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible to meet role requirements).
Additional: Commission rates paid on successful campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture relationships with existing supporters while engaging new local supporters.
- Identify, approach and convert new community supporters to increase awareness and participation in events and fundraising challenges.
- Develop an annual community fundraising calendar and produce related marketing materials.
- Promote events and campaigns through local outreach, social media, and the charity’s website.
- Develop creative fundraising ideas to generate fresh interest in the charity’s mission.
- Maintain accurate databases of supporters, participants, and sponsors.
- Identify and submit applications for awards and prize opportunities to raise the charity’s profile.
Experience:
- Proven fundraising experience.
- Experience developing relationships with corporate and community partners.
- Experience planning and delivering community and corporate events.
- Confident presenting and networking within local communities.
- Experience working in a charitable environment (ideally within disability services).
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to produce high-quality marketing materials.
- Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging donors at all levels.
- Demonstrates initiative and performs well under pressure.
- Ability to cost, budget and plan fundraising events.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Full driving licence and access to own transport.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
- A positive, proactive can-do attitude.
