Lead and manage the Drawing Office team, ensuring high-quality and error-free drawings. Coordinate resources, workloads, and timescales to meet project deadlines and milestones. Act as the central contact for Project Managers, supporting design changes and early planning. Work closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure smooth and timely drawing handovers. Run Kick-Off Meetings, Technical Reviews, and weekly DO meetings to track progress and resolve issues. Review and approve drawings to ensure compliance with company standards and UKCA/legislative requirements. Maintain and improve drawing office processes, quality standards, and document control. Monitor commercial aspects, including variations, drawing hours, and specification changes. Support team development, training, performance management, and recruitment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience managing a drawing office or design team in an engineering environment.
  • Strong technical background in drafting, detailing, or engineering (materials handling experience a plus).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of UKCA marking, Design Risk Assessments, and workshop/site operations (or willingness to learn).
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and variations.
  • Proficiency with Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect software essential.
