We’re searching for a Software Engineer to join our Digital Technology Services team, building and maintaining scalable SaaS platforms that enable Centrica’s growth.

As part of a cross‑functional team, you will collaborate with Product Owners to shape roadmap, innovate with cutting‑edge technologies, and deliver impactful solutions.
Location UK – flexible working available.
Day to Day
- Build and evolve backend applications using TypeScript/Node.js, Java, and Python.
- Design and deploy scalable solutions across AWS, Azure, and Salesforce.
- Champion serverless and event‑driven architectures using Kubernetes and microservices.
- Use SQL/NoSQL, Terraform, and Datadog to manage infrastructure and monitor performance.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to define roadmaps and deliver impactful SaaS platforms.
- Participate in hackathons and innovation projects with partners like AWS and Microsoft.
- Drive excellence in security, SRE, and quality engineering.
About You
- Experience building TypeScript/Node.js backend applications.
- Experience building serverless and event‑driven architectures on AWS.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Strong experience using API technologies.
- Knowledge of engineering best practices and continuous delivery.
- Passion for building quality software and delighting customers.
- Responsible for proactively improving deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident handling practices within the team.
