The Senior Domain Architect – B2B brands modernises our platforms, strengthens cyber and operational resilience, and advances a product‑led way of working that brings engineers, data specialists and business experts together to deliver meaningful outcomes rapidly.

Location

UK-based hybrid role, occasional travel to site.

The Day to Day

  • Strategic Partnering & Domain Leadership – maintain primary strategic technology relationships with counterparts across Centrica Home. Maintain a forward‑looking view of the B2C landscape, ensuring domain priorities remain aligned, coherent and commercially relevant.
  • Cross‑Portfolio Roadmap Ownership – shape, maintain and continuously refine cross‑portfolio technology roadmaps for B2B brands, ensuring they reflect Retail Technology strategy and translate into actionable guidance for change programmes.
  • Architectural Decision Support & Trade‑Off Analysis – lead option evaluations and design assessments, articulating trade‑offs across cost, complexity, customer impact, delivery risk, strategic alignment and long‑term maintainability.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance Leadership – act as the escalation point for design risk, ensuring decisions remain compliant with security, regulatory and technology guardrails while promoting architectural quality.
  • Innovation, Automation & AI‑Enabled Architecture – continuously assess new technologies, patterns and approaches that strengthen architectures, improve solutions, or reduce operational complexity; use automation and agentic AI tooling for design support.
  • Coaching & Architectural Uplift – provide day‑to‑day coaching to Architects and wider technologists, ensuring standards and patterns are consistently applied and building capability within squads and platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering solution and domain architectures across multiple projects or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and their alignment with technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to plan and implement mid‑to‑long‑term technology roadmaps.
  • Experience with architectural governance and compliance in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrates safe and responsible use of AI tools, with knowledge of appropriate AI use, awareness of accuracy, bias, compliance, and ability to design and reuse prompt templates within policy guardrails.
  • Strong ability to recognise higher risk scenarios and to escalade to governance or security as needed; proficiency in enterprise AI copilots, knowledge assistants and AI‑enhanced productivity tools.
