We're looking for an experienced Senior Regulatory Manager - Code Management, Regulatory Reporting & Industry Governance to lead our engagement with energy industry code governance, regulatory reporting and industry-wide change programmes. This is a leadership role, responsible for ensuring Centrica understands and complies with its licence, code, reporting and statutory obligations, while influencing the future direction of the industry through strategic engagement with regulators, code bodies and key stakeholders.

Location: UK Flexible. Please note that you will be required to travel to external meetings, as well as internal meetings at Centrica's offices (inc. Windsor (and Reading and London Paddington from December 2026)).

Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead a team of Regulatory Managers and Analysts, providing expert oversight of industry codes, regulatory reporting obligations and governance arrangements across retail and wholesale energy markets. You'll play a critical role in assessing regulatory and industry developments, shaping Centrica's external positions, and ensuring the business is well prepared for current and future regulatory change.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leading Centrica's strategic engagement with industry codes, agreements and governance frameworks, ensuring the business understands and responds effectively to evolving obligations.
  • Assessing the impact of code modifications, regulatory programmes and wider market reforms, translating complex requirements into clear business impacts, recommendations and actions.
  • Leading Centrica's response to significant industry governance change programmes, including Industry Code Reform and other strategic initiatives.
  • Developing and representing Centrica's positions with regulators, code bodies, industry participants, central service providers and consumer groups.
  • Driving industry and regulatory changes that reduce cost, mitigate risk, improve customer outcomes and create commercial value.
  • Owning and overseeing Centrica's regulatory reporting framework, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant submissions to Ofgem, government and other external stakeholders.
  • Embedding robust reporting governance, controls, data quality assurance, escalation processes and audit readiness across the organisation.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team, setting strategic direction and ensuring delivery across code management, regulatory reporting and industry change activities.

We're looking for a recognised industry expert with significant experience in energy regulation, industry governance and code management.

You will bring:

  • Senior-level experience within the energy sector, particularly in regulatory, industry governance or related functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry governance arrangements, code modification processes, regulatory impact assessments and Ofgem decision-making.
  • A strong track record of interpreting complex regulatory obligations and translating them into clear, practical and commercially sound business solutions.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders on high-profile regulatory, operational and commercial matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, challenge and build credibility both internally and externally.
  • Experience leading through complex industry change and navigating fast-moving strategic and operational priorities.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.

Regulatory Reporting Expertise

You will have substantial experience in regulatory reporting governance, including:

  • Regulatory reporting frameworks and controls.
  • Data quality assurance and audit trails.
  • Escalation and governance processes.
  • Regulatory information requests and regulator engagement.
  • Audit readiness and compliance assurance.
  • Senior stakeholder reporting and governance.
  • Continuous improvement of reporting processes and controls.

Nice to Have

  • Project management, regulatory or energy sector qualifications.
  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Economics, Law or a related field.
