About your team: At Centrica Business Solutions, we’re proud to partner with over 7,000 organisations globally – helping them to balance planet, with profit. We build, operate and maintain onsite, large-scale energy assets like Solar PV and Combined Heat and Power – to help businesses to save the planet and save money. We’re also transforming the UK’s energy landscape by partnering with landowners and developers to build a 900MW portfolio of new grid-scale solar farms and battery storage assets.
The role holder will establish and build strong partnering relationships with selected Key Partner Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs) at multiple levels in their organisation including senior management and director level to enable strong partnerships and growth for BGB. The role requires negotiation of commercial partnership arrangements and driving sales & retention for energy and energy related services in our Small, Enterprise/Mid-Market segments.
About the role: To manage and develop a portfolio of Key Partners to exceed new business and retention performance. To manage & grow our portfolio with selected flagship TPI’s in accordance with our Broker Strategy and segmentation guidelines/rules. Increase opportunity pipeline visibility and opportunities provided by the TPI, whilst increasing our overall success/win rate from relationships. Complete and maintain Broker Insight Documents to identify the needs and drivers of TPI’s and identify opportunities for growth and improving partnering opportunities. Share our Broker Strategy on Pricing, Partnerships & Service aspirations. To ensure energy supply portfolios are managed to the highest standards across case management, SLA’s and insights on onboarding and LTV. To build deep and meaningful relationships with Key Partners throughout their organisation & take accountability & ownership of the relationship. Provide innovative solutions to influence and leverage Centrica capacity to ensure maximum value is generated from our customers and increase attractiveness to purchase through the British Gas brand. Provide insightful activity reports during face to face meetings to Key Partnerships on Portfolio activity including accurate pipelines and forecasts, activity, feedback on tenders and logging of account plans and opportunity plans. Provide competitor and market intelligence to influence the strategy and tactical position of the TPI channel. To carry out all aspects of the role in line with current CBS /Centrica standards, governance and processes, meeting training, regulatory, compliance and audit requirements. Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
Here's what we’re looking for: Previous business development experience with the ability to generate and develop Key/high value Partner relationships. Deep knowledge and relevant experience of managing high value customer and third party relationships. A thorough and current energy market knowledge would be preferable. A sound commercial awareness across a range of energy products & services including brokers. Target driven with proven ability to consistently exceed stretching targets. Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting and negotiating with senior management externally and internally. Dedication is required to work from home and be prepared to travel to customer facing visits. Strong teamwork skills are necessary as the sales cycle touches many teams and success for peers hinges on helping to co-ordinate collaboratively across the business. Strong networking ability and ability to represent the sales & Key Partnership channel across Centrica. Understanding of the commercial value of our customers and can demonstrate an understanding of our customer’s needs is very important. Solid IT skills and ability to manipulate into usable data. Regular travel to Partners, customers and Centrica offices will be required. Self-assurance and credible with ability to self-start and self-manage. As a ‘field worker’, the job holder should be highly self-motivated and be assured to work without supervision. UK driving licence. Homebased role UK with travel to other Centrica offices and customer/partner visits.
