Location: The successful candidate will be employed initially at our offices in Windsor, later moving to Reading and/or London. Flexible office attendance is required.

What will you do?

  • Advise on the impact of regulatory regimes on profitability and return on capital, informing Business Units and Centrica’s central strategy for project implementation.
  • Support Centrica Home and Centrica Business teams in adopting energy products and technologies, modelling adoption rates and their effects on consumption and bills.
  • Advise on design of regulatory funding regimes, shaping mechanisms to enable net‑zero commercial opportunities.
  • Coordinate with project, M&A and legal teams to meet deadlines, preparing papers for Centrica committees, senior leadership and the Board.
  • Coordinate internal and external consultancy work across Centrica, aiming to reduce external costs and increase internal capacity.
  • Improve knowledge and skills across the team and wider function by sharing best practices in regulatory economics.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Excellent verbal, presentation and reasoning skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to build working relationships at all levels of Centrica Group and with external stakeholders such as Ofgem, BEIS, national regulators, energy networks and industry bodies.
  • Track record of applying economic analysis to policy and regulation, with experience in diverse sector areas.
  • Good understanding of the energy sector, or relevant economic analysis experience, is an advantage.
  • Agile and proactive, delivering timely responses to meet project deadlines.
