We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Settlements Analyst to join our Cash Management Operations department on an initial 12-month contract. The Cash Management team is a crucial function within Centrica Energy who are accountable for the back end of the trade lifecycle i.e. invoicing and settlement. The teams activities are critical in supporting the business achieve its ambitious growth targets whilst ensuring effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss whether financial or reputational.
Location: The role is based out of our central London office (close to Marble Arch) with 3 days per week based within the office.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Daily bank reconciliations and preparing the cash funding forecast for trade dates to share with the Treasury and Finance Teams.
- Managing overdue payments and outstanding items, organising weekly meetings, and assigning outstanding items to Settlement team members for follow-up and consultation with counterparts.
- Updating the daily forecast upon receipt of early or unforecasted payments and providing the updated forecast to the Treasury and Finance Teams.
- Preparing preliminary cash funding forecasts for major settlement dates as well as handling payment releases, ensuring they are checked and approved before the payment deadlines.
You will learn Centrica Energy's ETRM and banking systems quickly to efficiently operate settlement processes and help in developing, automating, and optimising processes to bring efficiencies and improved controls. You will be used to working in a high volume, automated, process driven environment where speed and accuracy are imperative.
You will be accountable for timely and accurate invoicing and settlement of Centrica Energy's commodity transactions. This includes:
- Daily Bank Reconciliation of the previous days cash flow/ forecast
- Management of Clearing Accounts and Clearing report of outstanding items and late payments.
- Collating and updating the Cash Funding Forecast daily.
- Ensuring funds are received and paid on time, allocating outstanding items to Settlement team members to take ownership.
- Ensuring accurate input into the cash liquidity process for Group Treasury
- Managing preliminary Cash Funding Forecasts, liaising with Treasury and Finance Teams to ensure accurate figures for each entity.
- Supporting and notifying management on any payment issues, working to resolve as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Checking and processing Payment releases in a timely manner, ensuring same day times have been released before currency deadlines.
- Running within day checks to ensure same day payments have been processed.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, to drive efficiency and improved performance (e.g., system enhancements and automation).
