Working closely with the Project Delivery team, you’ll be a key member of the Project Controls function, which provides the resources, procedures, and tools for planning, monitoring, reporting, and controlling all stages of the project lifecycle. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll define standards, optimise processes, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to plan.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and manage schedules at all levels, from scoping through execution, using Primavera Cloud and WBS structures.
- Monitor performance against baselines, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Integrate contractor schedules, challenge assumptions, and produce clear progress reports including S-curves and lookaheads.
- Drive adherence to timelines and continually assess processes and tools to recommend improvements that strengthen CBS’s market position.

Responsibilities of the role:
- Develop and manage project schedules across all stages, from scoping through execution, ensuring alignment with WBS structures and project requirements.
- Utilise Primavera Cloud to produce schedules at multiple levels of detail (Levels 1–4), incorporating milestones, critical paths, and float analysis.
- Establish and maintain baseline schedules as a reference point for performance tracking and variance analysis.
- Monitor progress and performance, identify deviations from plan, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Integrate contractor schedules into the overall CBS programme, challenging assumptions and ensuring accuracy of durations, logic, and dependencies.
- Prepare clear progress reports for stakeholders, including full schedules, S-curves, lookahead plans, and efficiency metrics.
- Drive adherence to timelines and proactively influence project teams to meet delivery commitments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, assessing processes, tools, and reporting methods to enhance CBS’s planning capability and market position.
- Support the establishment of the Project Controls function, helping define standards and best practices for scheduling and governance.
Here's what we’re looking for:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in project planning and scheduling within construction or capital projects, ideally using Primavera P6/Primavera Cloud and Microsoft Project.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Skilled in validating logic, relationships, and critical paths within complex schedules.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, contractors, and stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Comfortable challenging existing processes and recommending enhancements to optimise delivery.
- Communication: Clear and confident reporting skills, able to present progress and risks to senior stakeholders.
- Desirable: Knowledge of project controls principles, WBS development, and progress measurement techniques.
