An opportunity to play your part: Join Centrica as a Monitoring Analyst, where you\’ll play a pivotal role in our Enterprise Platforms and Services function. This dynamic position is all about enhancing operational stability and efficiency through the innovative use of AIOPS, Observability technologies and automation. You\’ll be at the forefront of establishing services that drive the development of impactful analytics and insights, as well as systems for predictive failure and automated incident resolution. This role will get to work both hands on and strategically with our architects, suppliers and product teams to execute an observability road map for the Real Time Command Centre.

The Day to Day:

  • Develop and employ cutting-edge Observability and AIOPS strategies to produce valuable information on operational health trends and predictions.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by continuously learning and engaging with the latest market technologies within the AIOPS field.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance IT reliability and performance, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Integrate and collaborate with different service owners within the business for enabling proactive alerting insights into the Single-Pane-of-Glass (SPOG)
  • Supporting the design of, building and maintaining scalable and reliable event management capabilities to drive auto-healing in support of better performance and stability.
  • Ensuring that the monitoring and observability solutions capture business SLAs, and KPIs, and provide actionable insights and alerts for performance, availability, security, and compliance issues.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and trend analysis to proactively alert and prevent repeat Incidents, maintaining operational stability.
  • Evangelize SRE and DevOps practices by showcasing capabilities, understanding customer outcomes, and always seeking the simplest and yet robust solutions.

About You:

  • Hands-on experience with at least two of the following monitoring tools: AppDynamics, DataDog, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITOM / similar AIOPS platforms and its various components, including Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, Alert enrichment, Event correlation, Metric Intelligence, and Log Analytics.

An ideal candidate would have exposure to

  • ITIL & Agile ways of working
  • Observability principles (metrics, logs, traces)
  • Open Telemetry (OTel) framework
  • Experience with APM and distributed tracing
  • Key SRE metrices
