Location: UK / Ireland | Hybrid (home, office & field)

Reporting to the HSE Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping HSE performance across complex, operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of HSE specialists, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the delivery of the Retail HSE strategy, aligned to corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely with operational and commercial leadership, particularly across business-focused and customer-facing operations, to proactively manage risk.
  • Oversee contractor HSE performance across large-scale, field-based activity.
  • Ensure robust incident investigation, learning and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Support safe introduction of new products, services and operational delivery models.
  • Provide expert HSE advice to senior leaders and influence decision-making at scale.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior HSE leadership role within utilities, energy or a regulated operational environment.
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and embedding HSE culture across operational teams.
  • Deep knowledge of UK/Irish HSE legislation and management systems (e.g. ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
  • Experience managing contractors and complex supply chains.
  • Expertise in incident investigation, risk management and driving measurable HSE improvements.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH membership (chartered status desirable).
