We’re looking for an ACS qualified Installation Surveying Engineer (Retrofit Assessor) to join our NEST team, covering South Wales, North Wales and Mid Wales. Please note: this is a 9-month secondment/fixed-term opportunity. £48,557 pro rata. Secondment/Fixed term, Full-time, 40 hours per week. Location: Field based in the South Wales, North Wales and Mid Wales regions.

- Support the safe and effective delivery of the NEST Fuel Poverty Scheme, completing technical surveys, assessments and inspections to help customers improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
- Work to high standards of quality, safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction, while supporting business and personal KPIs.
- Take first-line responsibility for safe, efficient and effective work delivery across the NEST Fuel Poverty Scheme.
- Carry out retrofit assessments in line with PAS 2035, the specification for energy retrofit of domestic buildings.
- Provide technical support, coaching and advice to customers on energy efficiency improvements and measures.
- Complete technical home audits, Energy Performance Reports or Energy Performance Certificates, and design heating systems that meet customer and business requirements.
- Complete technical post inspections and sign off installation work delivered through NEST.
- Complete heating surveys and final inspection sign-off visits, ensuring all work meets customer expectations and contract specifications.
- Provide enhanced retrofit advice to support each householder’s journey towards a low-carbon home.
- Complete technical assessments, supporting safe work delivery in your region and providing updates when required.
- Build strong customer relationships, resolving low-level field-related complaints and taking proactive steps to identify and address the root cause of issues.
- Strong understanding of the health, safety, environmental and legal requirements relevant to this work.
- Valid ACS qualification (essential).
- Experience surveying properties, installing heating systems or working in a similar technical role (essential).
- Energy Awareness 6281-01 (desirable).
- Renewable Awareness 6281-02 (desirable).
- Level 3 GDA/ DEA qualification (desirable).
- Retrofit Assessor qualification (desirable).
- Oftec qualification (desirable).
- Part P / 17th edition (desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer relationships.
- A positive approach to change, with a willingness to learn new skills and develop within the role.
- The ability to work to challenging targets and timescales.
- Confidence and credibility, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- The ability to share information and knowledge assertively, while showing empathy with customers and colleagues.
