An opportunity to play your part: As Head of IS Engineering, you’ll lead how engineering drives business performance, bringing pace and clarity to a complex landscape. This is a hands-on role overseeing delivery across operational and field environments, while evolving AWS Connect as a core customer engagement platform. You’ll connect strategy with execution, ensuring AWS Connect is fully integrated with Salesforce, enterprise systems, and the wider AWS ecosystem to deliver a scalable and resilient customer experience.

Acting as a true generalist, you’ll bring together platform engineering, cloud, and contact centre capabilities, making sure AWS Connect features such as routing, automation, analytics, and omnichannel are fully optimised. You’ll embed best practice across AWS Connect, focusing on security, resilience, performance, and continuous improvement, while driving innovation with partners like Microsoft and Datadog to enhance both customer and colleague experiences.

Location: UK-based hybrid role, Occasional travel to site.

Day to day:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of engineering platforms, owning the full software development lifecycle from design through to run, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business and customer needs, with a strong integration of Salesforce capabilities.
  • Drive the design and implementation of new features and enhancements, using a data-led, experimentation-focused approach to shape current and future architecture across multiple engineering disciplines and Salesforce.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of engineering managers and senior engineers, setting clear technical direction, participating in design reviews, and building a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Embed engineering excellence by continuously improving deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices, while tracking and optimising performance through meaningful engineering metrics.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders and product peers to define platform and Salesforce strategy, manage communications, and ensure alignment on roadmaps, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
  • Apply strong commercial and customer focus, using cost management insight to support business strategy, solve real customer pain points, and deliver measurable impact across complex, multi-service platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to shape and influence platform integration across a complex enterprise landscape, positioning AWS Connect at the centre of customer engagement, and ensuring seamless integration with Salesforce, core enterprise systems, and the wider AWS ecosystem to deliver scalable, aligned, and long-term business value.
  • Hands-on experience driving innovation through hackathons and collaborative initiatives, leveraging AWS Connect capabilities such as routing, automation, and omnichannel to rapidly prototype and deploy solutions, working closely with partners including Microsoft and Datadog.
  • Deep expertise in advancing engineering excellence across Security, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Quality within an AWS environment, embedding best practices across AWS Connect platforms to ensure resilience, compliance, performance, and continuous improvement at scale.
  • Proven track record of embedding a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and innovation, using AWS Connect and broader cloud technologies including analytics, AI-driven insights, and automation to challenge legacy approaches and significantly enhance customer and operational outcomes.
