About your team: At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it. We've been powering the UK's homes and businesses for over 200 years – but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We're making the UK greener and more energy efficient, getting closer to Net Zero. By using clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we're making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon-footprint.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be directly accountable for performance managing and driving new growth opportunities in the New Housing market. You will be working in a sales team with the primary responsibility of selling British Gas Multi Utility infrastructure products to New Housing developers throughout the UK.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for the development and on-going management of individual partners to deliver against sales targets, objectives, budgets, and KPIs.
  • Identify and develop direct key strategic relationships and build these for mutual benefit, creating a strong suite of partner relationships for BG and partners.
  • Produce regular activity reports to communicate performance and continuous improvement activity.
  • Develop and maintain a KPI dashboard for metrics and use analysis to create actionable insight to drive commercial recommendations.
  • Be responsible for regular customer review meetings.
  • Manage regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate for resolution.
  • Work with regulatory frameworks (specifically FCA and OFGEM), to ensure all 3rd party relationships are fully compliant, as well as always providing adequate oversight.
  • Manage relationships with key business stakeholders and senior management ensuring sign-off on key plans, forecasts, business cases, creative and copy as needed across different partnerships.
  • Drive a customer focused culture, ensuring customers and partners are treated fairly and properly.
  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of British Gas Multi Utility products.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate level of competitor and market insight.
  • You will be the day-to-day point of contact for new developer queries.

Key Stakeholders and Working Relationships:

You will liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure all targets are achieved. Internally, you will be working closely with the quote and management teams. In addition to all internal teams and networks, you will be required to work seamlessly with all stakeholders within British Gas Multi Utility to jointly deliver against the plan.

Work Experience & Functional/Technical Skills:

  • A passion for sales is a must. You will have experience of driving sales; performance management against sales targets and the ability and natural inquisitiveness to identify new opportunities and deliver commercial benefits from these opportunities.
  • You will have relationship management experience and be able to provide demonstrable evidence of success in developing and delivering partner campaigns and initiatives.
  • You will be able to manage partners and will be comfortable working within a high pressure, deadline driven environment.
  • An understanding and previous experience of working in utility sales process is advantageous.
  • Ability to negotiate, present, and engage at all levels in organisations is essential.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence and flex your communication styles to different audiences and stakeholders.
  • You will be organised, deadline orientated and comfortable with juggling different priorities.
  • You will be comfortable challenging partners to deliver a strong performance whilst maintaining positive relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following are helpful: Utility infrastructure (Gas, Water and Electric), The Energy Market, Retail sales models, Net Zero- tendering procurement knowledge, Contract management – Ensuring terms of contracts are managed, Understanding of standard Legal requirements and contract terms.
