The Revenue and Cost Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all payments due to, or paid by, Centrica Group companies related to Metering and Metering Services, are both accurate and timely.

Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the Revenue and Cost Assurance function, managing a team of Analysts and offshore partners to ensure accurate payments, strong revenue governance, and robust financial controls across the smart metering portfolio and associated metering services.
- Lead and develop a team of Analysts and offshore service partners to deliver Revenue and Cost Assurance objectives.
- Generate long-term revenue forecasts and manage performance against plan with strong governance.
- Manage capital deployment for the smart metering portfolio (c. £1bn over five years), safeguarding invested capital.
- Validate all invoices for metering and metering-related services for British Gas Energy and Centrica Smart Meter Assets Ltd (over £500m annually).
- Develop KPIs that drive operational performance across metering payments and receipts.
- Support Third-Party Performance Managers in Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews across 20+ energy suppliers and service providers.
- Manage the CSMA debtor portfolio.
- Ensure alignment between internal business units and systems for MAP services.
- Ensure accurate system implementation of contractual changes to support correct payments.
- Own and manage payment and invoice disputes.
- Design and implement end-to-end controls to ensure correct-first-time payments and exception recovery.
- Initiate and manage process changes following industry or contractual modifications (including smart rollout elements such as DCC communications).
- Continuously review and optimise team processes to ensure they are efficient, data-driven, and fit for purpose.
- Lead development of new processes and systems required to validate and ensure accurate payments under the new GSOP regime.
- Develop future capability to bill Third-Party clients for metering services.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in financial operations, billing, settlements, or revenue assurance within a large-scale organisation.
- Strong understanding of metering operations, asset finance, and energy industry processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including offshore service partners, to deliver operational objectives.
- Expertise in invoice validation, cost assurance, and managing high-value capital deployment.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and KPI development.
- Experience in implementing robust financial controls and managing complex contractual changes.
- Experience in debt management and litigation processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, financial reconciliation tools, and process automation technologies.
- Deep knowledge of the UK energy market, regulatory frameworks, and smart metering rollout requirements.
- Understanding of commercial principles including revenue optimisation, cost control, and risk management.
- Ability to interpret and apply contractual obligations to operational processes.
- Skilled in stakeholder management across finance, procurement, operations, and third-party service providers.
- Experience in aligning business units and systems to deliver accurate and timely financial outcomes.
- Strategic mindset with capability to influence decisions that impact multi-million-pound portfolios.
