Metering Regulatory Performance Analyst
Permanent – Full-time or Part-time
Location: Leicester with flexible home working
About your role:
This role is within the Metering & Industry Performance team, part of the Business Excellence function in British Gas Business Energy. It focuses on driving operational performance by monitoring metering regulatory objectives, developing performance reports, insights, and controls to manage risks and identify optimisation opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining performance reporting for regulatory bodies to demonstrate progress on industry metering objectives and obligations.
- Collaborating with metering and operations teams to establish routines, monitor metrics, and set targets.
- Building relationships with internal and third-party stakeholders to develop and deliver performance insights.
- Analyzing data to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Monitoring operational performance and evaluating change initiatives.
- Forecasting performance and setting challenging yet achievable goals.
- Staying informed on industry trends and best practices to benchmark performance.
What we’re looking for:
- A customer-focused individual with strong knowledge of metering operations and experience in complex organizational and regulatory environments.
- Experience in the UK energy market, covering Electricity and Gas, with a good understanding of the regulatory framework.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and manage diverse stakeholders effectively. Excellent analytical skills, with experience using SQL, Excel, and Power BI for large datasets, performance assessment, and opportunity identification.
- Clear and confident communicator, capable of presenting detailed insights to senior management to support decision-making.
