About your team
The Chief Customer Office (CCO) exists to drive commercial growth across all of Centrica Retail through focus on world class customer experience and highly attractive and compelling product and service propositions.
We’re looking for a passionate and strategic Marketing Operations Lead to drive organic growth for our brands. Working across all UK Centrica retail brands— from British Gas, a brand rich in heritage with a bold new brand platform built for future growth, to Hive, our innovative eco-tech brand leading the way in smart home sustainability — you’ll help deliver strategic planning and the execution of marketing operations, driving a more efficient and effective way of working to our teams and agency partners.
This role involves leading the financial forecasting process for Marketing, ensuring our marketing budgets are aligned to business objectives and are built to deliver customer growth. The Marketing Operations Lead will also manage relationships with external agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of high-quality marketing services through defining a robust scope of work. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a matrix organisation to achieve marketing excellence.
About your role
We’re looking for a highly organised and collaborative marketing operations lead to manage our agency partnerships and marketing budget with precision and impact. In this role, you’ll be the go-to contact for our external agencies and vendors—overseeing scopes of work, contracts, and SLAs to ensure top-tier delivery that aligns with our goals and timelines. You’ll monitor agency performance closely, making sure KPIs are met and quality standards are upheld.
You’ll also take full ownership of our marketing budget, partnering with finance to forecast, track, and reconcile spend. From identifying variances to optimising ROI, you’ll play a key role in ensuring every pound is working hard. Your insights will shape budget decisions and be shared with leadership through clear, data-backed reporting.
This role is highly cross-functional, working closely with teams across marketing, finance, procurement, and legal to streamline operations and improve processes. You’ll also lead the development of standardised ways of working—from agency onboarding to budget tracking—ensuring efficiency, transparency, and governance at every step.
