The role of Propositions Manager is to deliver energy supply and/or services propositions that enable us to successfully participate in our chosen market segments, meet our customers’ needs, and drive future growth.
About the role:
- Manage proposition development projects, from inception to delivery.
- Work with all business functions to develop concepts into fully specified propositions, following the established proposition development governance process.
- Research, plan, negotiate and manage contracts with new and existing 3rd party providers as necessary to provide key capabilities and services to deliver the proposition roadmap.
- Ensure that propositions are commercially sound, meet our customers’ needs and are priced effectively for the market.
- Effectively utilise the expertise and capabilities within the wider team to successfully deliver new propositions and improve existing proposition portfolio.
- Work with other functional areas to build channel and operational readiness; and to plan and execute launch activities.
- Develop proposition performance metrics / success measures.
- Track the performance of individual propositions; identify, recommend and implement improvement actions as required.
- Keep aware of changes in the market, customer needs and regulatory drivers.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Analyses customer, market, financial and cost data to identify viable proposition opportunities and recommend commercial solutions.
- Uses sound judgement to balance customer value, commercial return, operational feasibility, and regulatory constraints.
- Works within established governance, pricing and compliance requirements, while developing new solutions where the market or customer need is not defined by existing policies.
- Handles complex, multi‐factor problems (e.g., cost changes, regulatory shifts, delivery capability) and forms clear, evidence‐based conclusions.
- Operates with moderate autonomy, progressing proposals through product governance and escalating only where risks or investment thresholds require.
- Experience working in B2B energy or a similar competitive market.
- Good knowledge of energy propositions and pricing.
- Good understanding of the customer journey, business process and systems.
- Good knowledge of the energy market and regulatory landscape.
- An understanding of proposition development processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of the business’s key performance indicators.
- Understanding of the commercial aims and objectives of Centrica.
- Capable of working effectively without supervision, to deliver work to deadlines at a consistently high level of quality.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
