About your team: At Centrica Business Solutions, we partner with over 7,000 organisations globally to help balance planet and profit. We build, operate, and maintain onsite energy assets like Solar PV and CHP to help businesses save the planet and money. We are also transforming the UK’s energy landscape by developing a 900MW portfolio of solar farms and battery storage assets.
A Control Room Operator is needed for our Energy & Controls Centre, part of the O&M function of CBS. The role involves monitoring remote assets including Peaking Plant Gas Engines, BEMS, CHP, GSHP, solar PV, and BESS installations. The Control Room is based in Windsor and requires onsite presence. You will join a 6-person team providing 24/7 service. The shift pattern is yet to be confirmed but may include night shifts.
The Control Room Operator should be skilled in interpreting data from multiple sources, responding promptly to notifications, and following procedures to resolve and escalate issues. They are responsible for minimizing unplanned outages and will use Windows software daily.
Accountabilities:- Monitor CBS and customer assets to maximize efficiency.
- Manage and prioritize event notifications to meet contractual obligations.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records on our monitoring tools.
- Ensure effective handovers between shifts for safety and continuity.
- Work efficiently within SLA-driven environment.
- Produce reports on asset performance.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and ethics.
Experience in one of the following areas is required: Mechanical or electrical engineering, Support desk, IT support, Energy management.
Education:ONC, HNC, or equivalent in a technical field is beneficial but not essential.
