At Centrica Energy Storage +, our mission is to store it. Our onshore and offshore teams are united in their goal, to boost the UK’s energy security and drive down bills for customers. Rough, our North Sea storage facility, currently provides half of the UK’s gas storage – enough to heat 2.4 million homes over winter. But we’re not stopping there. We’ve got our sights set on transforming it into the world’s largest hydrogen storage facility and creating a Net Zero connected energy hub in the Humber.
Centrica Energy Storage CES+ is the owner and operator of Rough, the UK’s largest gas storage facility, helping manage seasonal demand and energy security. As a Senior Offshore Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital part of the Offshore Maintenance Team, supporting the safe and efficient operation of offshore plant and equipment. You will take responsibility for both mechanical and electrical maintenance activities, acting as the Responsible Electrical Person (REP) for plant electrical systems. Working closely with plant operators and instrument technicians, you will help ensure high standards of safety, reliability, and performance across the site.
Location - Offshore CES – 47/3Bravo, Hull
Accountabilities
- Enactment of the schedule of work
- Assistance provided to plan and develop work
- Ensure enactment and compliance with Discipline Specific Legislation.
- Ensure maintenance is executed in line with standards and strategies.
- Provide technical discipline input into operational risk management, including Deferral of SECE Maintenance.
- Support & participate in HS&E improvement initiatives.
- Plan emergent work using the CES Processes and Procedures.
- Participate in root cause analysis and technical reviews to solve Safety & Reliability issues.
- Contractor and vendor supervision.
- On call to respond to and fault find emergent defects out of normal hours.
- Participates in the Permit to Work system in accordance with current procedures.
- Completes task risk assessments utilising outcomes to assess any impact with respect to major accident prevention and to workplace safety and environmental precautions.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Technical knowledge and experience in maintenance procedures and methods.
- Extensive knowledge of CMMS and SSoW with regards to planning, risk assessment, and enactment of workscopes.
- Ability to complete concise but accurate reporting and communication both written and verbally to colleagues in a responsive and effective way.
- Maintain effective emergency response roles as per platform requirements
- Attention to detail and organised approach to work.
- Ability to reach a conclusion using relevant information and data and to determine the best course of action in a timeframe consistent with business requirements.
- Ability to access and utilise materials and supply spare parts management systems.
- High levels of self-drive and motivation.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisations.
- Required to join the platform emergency response team, which will include basic firefighting and personnel rescue training.
