About your team: At Centrica Energy Storage, our mission is to store it. Our onshore and offshore teams are united in their goal, to boost the UK’s energy security and drive down bills for customers. Rough, our North Sea storage facility, currently provides half of the UK’s gas storage – enough to heat 2.4 million homes over winter. But we’re not stopping there. We’ve got our sights set on transforming it into the world's largest hydrogen storage facility and creating a Net Zero connected energy hub in the Humber.

Accountabilities:

  • Carries out all aspects of routine planned and breakdown maintenance within mechanical discipline, utilising workshop machinery and equipment as necessary to contribute to maintaining all installed plant, equipment and associated controls in good working order and to maximising plant safety and availability.
  • Participates in the design, installation and commissioning of modifications and new plant and equipment in accordance with CES and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Participates in the Permit to Work system in accordance with current procedures.
  • Completes task hazard assessments, forms and utilises the outcomes to assess any impact with respect to major accident prevention and to workplace safety and environmental precautions.
  • Adheres to all relevant operating procedures, safe operating practices and company procedures and policies.
  • Responds to priority tasks, usually to rectify faults, to the requirements of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Analyses faults, prepares concise defect reports within SAP CMMS identifying remedial actions to ensure faults corrected.
  • Assists with the planning of works as directed by supervisor.
  • Reports all items that may affect safety and environmental performance, plant availability and reliability to ensure that the offshore management team is fully informed.
  • Ensures a comprehensive handover, both written and verbal, to communicate to the oncoming shift team details of ongoing operations and equipment.
  • Participates as required in the CES audit and inspection programmes.
  • Carries out maintenance and operational support work in other disciplines for which he/she is competent and trained.
  • Supervises and works with contractors, vendors, and equipment manufacturers personnel as necessary to ensure CES safety, technical and other procedures are adhered to, and that work is planned and completed on time.
  • Comprehensively records work undertaken and materials used to ensure that plant maintenance records are updated either by the jobholder or others. Records and updates stock usage and ensure equipment stock levels are maintained, initiating requests for spares as necessary.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of the planned maintenance system.
  • Provides accurate information on work details to facilitate effective issue and termination of Permits to Work.
  • Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to within his/her area of work to comply with the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Participates in the training of staff of other disciplines to extend multifunctional activities.
  • Support & participate in HS&E improvement initiatives.

Competencies:

  • Well-developed planning, scheduling and organisational skills.
  • Good team leadership and analytical skills; and the ability to influence and communicate at all levels (including senior management) are essential.
  • Extensive operations, maintenance or project experience and knowledge in within the upstream oil and gas industry, or similar process industries.
  • BOSIET/MIST.
  • The individual must be able to develop effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of CES for Integrated Operations Planning process compliance.
  • Working relationships must also be maintained with all parties to ensure they understand CES requirements and comply with them.
