The LNG Commercial Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially optimised execution of LNG cargo movements, ensuring seamless coordination between trading, shipping, suppliers, customers and logistics providers. The role manages vessel operations, cargo scheduling, contractual obligations, operational data and documentation to support reliable LNG delivery, accurate financial reporting and effective risk management, while maximising value in line with trading and commercial objectives.
- Continuous liaison with chartered vessels, ship owners and LNG Suppliers and Buyers.
- Arrange loading and discharge logistics, co-ordinate between ports, buyers, sellers, shipping agents, inspectors, ship owners and captains.
- Continuous commercial thinking to optimise portfolio value.
- Plan and monitor ship voyages, LNG and fuel consumption in line with LNG trading team strategy.
- Forecast LNG cargo delivery volumes, LNG boil-off, LNG quality within contractual obligations.
- Monitor ship performance and economics and establish benchmarks in conjunction with Centrica LNG Freight, Marine and Analytics teams.
- Produce, manage, distribute and maintain shipping and cargo documentation.
- Capture and record data, maintain and reconcile internal trading and shipping systems data for LNG volumes, charges and invoices to ensure accurate data used for P&L forecasting, cash flow and invoicing.
- Ensure accurate contract management records (nominations, customs, contract deviations and vessel documentation).
- Participate in managing obligations and notices arising from commercial agreements.
- Be available out of hours on call to deal with shipping and logistic issues.
The Person:
- Experience in LNG Operations and knowledge of LNG trading processes and worldwide energy.
- Experience in scaling contractual and shipping operations in complex, multi stakeholder supply chain configurations.
- Have worked cross functionally in major supply or trading organisations, identifying best practices and information flows.
- Have knowledge of interfaces and consequences of material ship-compatibility matters as well as technical due diligence core programs run by marine assurance.
