As a member of the developer platforms team you'll be in a role managing, securing and promoting our various developer platforms within Centrica. You'll be engaging with many teams across the business and have a chance to make a difference helping make their day to day easier and more robust.

Day to day:

  • Handling support issues for our end users and making sure they have what they need to do their jobs
  • Working on onboarding new developer platforms, securing and documenting them
  • Enabling teams by helping with setup and ongoing support of their consumed platforms
  • Building automations to improve and smooth out the processes and journeys developers go on when using our platforms
  • Delivering new guardrails and enabling teams with new feature demos/templates/etc.
  • Keeping up to date on the latest from our suppliers and internally promoting new features to help developers get the most out of our platforms

What we need from you:

  • A good attitude and outlook, someone able to bridge the gap between management and non-technical stakeholders and the development teams
  • Experience using and running developer platforms, including but not limited to; GitHub, AWS and Azure
  • A willingness to jump in and learn new technologies

AI / Digital literacy competencies:

  • Designs, integrates and operates AI-enabled solutions within enterprise environments, including prompt-driven workflows, retrieval-augmented systems and AI agents.
  • Applies structured evaluation, testing and monitoring practices to ensure AI outputs are reliable, secure and compliant with organisational guardrails.
  • Prepares and manages data used in AI workflows and takes responsibility for the responsible lifecycle of AI features from experimentation through deployment and continuous improvement.

About the job:

  • Design, Build and Operate Developer platforms for development teams throughout Centrica to consume.
  • Work with stakeholders such as Infosec, Strategy and Architecture and T&N to ensure our developer platforms deliver to their requirements.
  • Provide guidance on developer best practises.
  • Work with our Cloud Engineering and development teams to deliver highly available tools and services to assist with operational and development tasks.
  • Empower our developer teams to deliver.

Required Skills:

  • 3 or more years GitHub experience
  • 3 or more years experience of Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure)
  • Demonstrable git skills
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with languages like Go, Python and Node.js
  • Experience with continuous integration systems
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience of running highly available services
  • Expert problem-solving skills
