About your role: As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you'll play a key role in protecting and enabling one of Europe's leading energy trading businesses. Working closely with Trading, Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Finance and Legal teams, you'll help shape credit strategy, assess complex transactions, manage counterparty risk and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of Credit Risk. This is an exciting opportunity to combine strong credit analysis expertise with exposure to innovative risk modelling, data-driven decision making and automation initiatives across a global trading organisation.
Location: Park House, Marble Arch, London (hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office). The role also includes occasional travel to other Centrica Energy locations, including Aalborg, Denmark.
What you'll be doing:
- Credit Risk Management
- Conduct detailed financial and counterparty assessments across a portfolio of trading counterparties.
- Maintain and monitor counterparty credit ratings, limits and risk appetite frameworks.
- Monitor current and forward credit exposures across traded products and structured transactions.
- Support commercial decision-making by providing timely credit risk analysis and recommendations.
- Review transaction structures and identify appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Advise on collateral requirements and contribute to the negotiation of credit provisions within trading agreements.
- Produce and review management information and credit risk reporting.
- Driving Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Quantitative Risk and Quantitative Analytics teams to support the development of innovative credit risk models and tools.
- Review and challenge model outputs to ensure they remain robust, accurate and commercially relevant.
- Support governance, controls and documentation for credit risk models and associated processes.
- Contribute to the ongoing digitalisation and automation of Credit Risk reporting and decision-making.
- Work closely with technology teams to develop user-friendly solutions that improve efficiency, transparency and risk oversight.
What we're looking for:
- Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in Credit Risk within commodity trading, energy trading, investment banking or financial markets.
- Knowledge of energy and commodity markets, including power and gas, with exposure to LNG and/or oil markets desirable.
- Strong understanding of counterparty credit assessment, financial statement analysis and risk management principles.
- Knowledge of financial and energy markets and the key risks associated with trading activities.
- Familiarity with trading agreements, collateral arrangements and risk mitigation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Confidence operating within a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
- A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.

- Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as Python and/or SQL.
- Exposure to quantitative credit risk methodologies, including CVA, DVA, PFE or similar frameworks.
- Experience supporting automation, reporting or digital transformation initiatives within a risk function.
