We're looking for an agile, passionate, and experienced Engineering & Sustainability Lead to take on a pivotal leadership role at the centre of our property portfolio transformation. You'll be driving technical excellence, ensuring compliance, and delivering bold sustainability outcomes across a diverse UK estate. Location: UK-based hybrid role, Occasional travel to site.
The Day to Day:
- Drive the development and delivery of engineering and sustainability strategies that align with Centrica's property transformation, ESG commitments, and net zero ambitions.
- Oversee all aspects of building engineering, maintenance, and compliance, ensuring statutory adherence, lifecycle planning, and innovative, cost-effective solutions across the UK portfolio.
- Lead sustainability programmes to reduce energy, carbon, and water usage, embedding measurable approaches and integrated monitoring systems to achieve Group targets.
- Support major property transformation projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and technology upgrades, ensuring technical proposals are future-proof, compliant, and deliver measurable value.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, acting as a trusted advisor while managing outsourced FM and engineering providers to deliver safety, compliance, and performance excellence.
- Use data and analytics to drive decision-making, manage risk to critical assets, ensure resilience, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
