About your role: Our LNG division is renowned for its international reach, engaging in physical and financial trading of cargoes across all continents. We are seeking a highly skilled LNG Trading Analyst to join our high growth front-office desk. Team Focus Areas:
- Short-term LNG Trading: This role requires performing trading analysis and valuation essential for contributing to P&L and cash delivery. Strong collaboration and stakeholder skills are necessary.
- LNG Business Development: Structured economic deals analysis, NPV and optionality valuation are required. Good understanding of extrinsic deal valuation is a must. Running, developing and adapting models. Understanding Asian and new market trends and conducting counterparty/competitor analysis for mid to long-term deal-making are important aspects.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Deliver pre-deal and structuring analysis.
- Assist in financial trading analysis, including options, derivatives, and financial engineering techniques.
- Build front-office tools to model trading opportunities and analyse pre-deal risk and reward.
- Maintain systems and processes to ensure accuracy and ease of use for initial LNG deal valuation and booking.
- Plan, interpret, and package P&L, exposure and position data to facilitate trading decisions.
- Reconcile exposure and act as a link between the front office and partnering functions (Product Control, Finance, and Front Office models).
- Provide structuring analysis to LNG Business Developers and support portfolio model development.
- Perform market analysis to identify target customers and understand decision-making processes.
- Interface with teams across Centrica Energy to develop LNG Analytics modelling capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Experience in LNG trading and the wider energy trading environment, with exposure to gas, power, and other commodities.
- Proficiency in assembling and disseminating ETRM information and transferring it into actionable business insights.
- Experience in LNG shipping and commercial LNG contracts.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel and programming skills (Python preferred; VBA, C++, and statistical packages are a bonus).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
