Lead end to end design, implementation and delivery of Centrica's global annual bonus and performance frameworks, ensuring alignment between business and individual performance outcomes with reward decisions, driving a high-performance culture while maintaining governance, best practice, market competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Location: Windsor-Reading (travel as required) with hybrid working available
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the ongoing operation, design and governance of global annual bonus frameworks, ensuring alignment to business strategy and financial outcomes.
- Deliver annual and in-year reward cycles (including bonus and performance), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong governance.
- Own the integration of performance (individual and business) with reward processes, ensuring performance meaningfully informs pay and bonus decisions.
- Partner with HRBPs, Talent, and senior business leaders to embed effective performance practices and support high-quality performance conversations.
- Drive continuous improvement of performance frameworks, tools, and calibration processes to enhance fairness, differentiation, and transparency.
- Provide expert advice on reward and performance to senior stakeholders, supporting decision-making on complex or high-risk cases.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards across bonus and performance processes.
- Develop the wider reward team in building capability in Bonus and Performance storytelling, and stakeholder partnering.
What We're Looking For:
- Provides leadership to a team of reward & performance specialists, setting direction, priorities, and development plans.
- Acts as a subject matter expert within the Reward and People function.
- Champions a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset across the organisation.
- Experience in reward, compensation, and performance management within a complex, global organisation.
- Strong expertise in bonus design, pay-for-performance frameworks, and annual reward cycle delivery.
- Experience working with HR systems (e.g., Workday) to deliver performance and reward processes.
- Strong analytical capability and experience interpreting data to inform reward decisions.
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Experience managing and developing teams.
- Deep understanding of reward practices in regulated or multi-geography environments.
- Knowledge of performance management frameworks and their linkage to compensation.
- Awareness of key regulatory requirements (e.g., pay transparency, governance standards).
- Strong commercial acumen, understanding of key business/financial performance metrics and how reward drives business performance and retention.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience in related field.
- Professional qualification (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) preferred.
- Reward or compensation-specific certifications advantageous.
