Join us, be part of more. We're so much more than an energy company. We're a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn't rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That's why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

As our Domain Architect for Energy Supply, you'll play a key role in shaping the technology direction for one of the most important areas of Retail Technology, supporting both residential and business customers across the full energy supply journey. From customer acquisition, propositions and pricing through to contract lifecycle management, meter reads, rating, billing, payments, collections, debt, settlements, forecasting, regulatory reporting and customer service, you'll connect the moving parts and help make the complex feel simple. Working within our enterprise guardrails, you'll balance standardisation and platform reuse with the flexibility needed to meet different customer, commercial, operational and regulatory needs. As the architectural steward for Energy Supply, you'll influence investment and platform decisions, simplify the technology estate, reduce duplication and evolve sustainable reference architectures that improve customer outcomes, strengthen revenue assurance, drive operational efficiency, support compliance and reduce cost to serve.

Location: UK-based hybrid role, Occasional travel to site.

Day to day:

  • Shape and maintain the target architecture and integrated roadmap for the end-to-end Energy Supply capability, making sure acquisition, pricing, contract lifecycle, meter reads, billing, payments, debt, settlements, forecasting, regulatory reporting and customer service all work together smoothly.
  • Act as the architectural steward for Energy Supply, guiding platform choices, reuse decisions and investment priorities so technology supports customer outcomes, commercial value and long-term simplicity.
  • Develop clear reference architectures, capability boundaries and integration patterns across customer, channel, metering, market operations, finance, data and core supply platforms.
  • Balance enterprise standards with the flexibility needed for different residential and business customer journeys, propositions, operational processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Simplify the technology estate by reducing duplication, challenging local optimisation where it creates risk or cost, and promoting scalable, secure and reusable solutions.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, commercial, finance, operations, data and industry programme teams to turn strategy into practical roadmaps, design decisions and delivery guidance.
  • Bring strong governance and decision-making to complex architecture choices, keeping compliance, resilience, security, cost to serve, revenue assurance and long-term supportability front and centre.

What are the must haves:

  • Strong experience defining solution and domain architectures across complex, business-critical platforms, with the confidence to guide multiple delivery initiatives without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Experience in energy retail, utilities or another regulated, high-volume environment would be a real advantage, especially where customer, operational, financial and market processes need to work together seamlessly.
  • Understanding of end-to-end Energy Supply capabilities and how they connect across customer journeys, commercial propositions, operations, finance, data, industry interactions and market obligations.
  • Skilled at turning different customer segment and business needs into clear capability models, target architectures, transition roadmaps and pragmatic technology decisions that teams can actually deliver.
  • A confident communicator and natural collaborator, able to influence technical and non-technical audiences across product, engineering, operations, commercial teams and senior leadership.
  • Combining strategic and commercial thinking, bringing experience of platform strategy, architectural governance, investment trade-offs, technology rationalisation and total cost of ownership in a large organisation.
  • Using AI tools safely and responsibly, knowing when they add value and when they need human judgement, with strong awareness of accuracy, bias, security, compliance, prompt reuse and governance escalation within Centrica policy guardrails.
